All cats are different- but they all share many things. One of them, for example, is they have their own boundaries for personal space.
Some cats don't mind if there's other pets in their home. Some however- mind very much. If you do want more than one pet, bring them too your house at around the same time, so they get used to each other. Once a cat gets comfortable with what's around them, they want it to stay that way. This is why it might be hard to move to a new house, bring your cat to the vet, or have them stay at a cat hotel.
Cats can have HUGE personal spaces, some can even have them as big as 16 city blocks! Imagine- no other pets with in 16 city blocks. This might be more common if your cat leaves the house often and explored outside.
Some cats have personal spaces as small as a placemat. As long as nobody touches it- you'll be fine. This might be more common in small places, the condos and apartments.
Cats will also find a spot around the house to relax. It's very likely they will find a nice little secret hideaway, for when visitors come over, or when they want to be alone. My cat, Noodle, likes to hang out inside of the couch we've got in the basement. There's a small hole Noodle can squeeze through and relax inside the couch. He also has one behind the counter in the laundry room! It's a miracle how he fits in there.
That's all we have for now. Stay tuned for more news!
