When you try to get your cat's attention, you may make your voice go higher. You may start doing this because you realize that cats respond better when your voice is higher. Well- it's true! Cats respond better to higher frequencies. This includes people's voice!

If you have a high voice, you'll notice that cats respond to you better! This is because it's more noticeable, for example, when you're in a coffee shop, there's lots of people talking. You can hear them all, but don't pay much attention. But then- one person is yelling while they talk. They're yelling so loud that you have to look at them to see what's going on. This is what happens to cats when you talk in a high voice!

This is also common in a lot of animals too- including humans! If you hear someone with a high voice, like really high, you'll probably take a glance at them and wonder what's going on.
