Creme Puff lived for 38 years and 3 days. That's more than twice the average age for a cat! She lived from 1967 to 2005.

Her owner previously had a cat who lived for 34 years, and that cat held that record for oldest cat the time. Clearly, this owner knows how to keep his kitties alive! How did he do it?

Creme puff ran around often, she was very healthy. She had a great diet and exercised. She wasn't one of the fat cats. Creme Puff's diet consisted of eggs, broccoli, turkey bacon, coffee (that had cream in it) and dry cat food. Every two days, Creme was given a eyedrop of red wine, which was what kept her alive this long. The wine was kind of like something that told Creme's body to get going, they helped the arteries.

Creme's home was also very entertaining. She had a nice cat structure she could climb and jump around on. The garage was a cinema that played cat documentaries, so Creme could watch those if she was bored. She also had her own outdoor area, she was able to enjoy the outdoor very often. The backyard had a very good fence and Creme wasn't able to escape.

Creme Puff currently holds the world record for the oldest cat who ever lived, and she was 168 in cat years. That's longer than the oldest human (in human years!)
