This is one tough kitty.
In New York City, a cat fell 32 stories off of a building. After two days at the vet, the cat was completely find and was able to go home.
How did the cat survive?
The cat suffered from a collapsed lung and a chipped tooth. That was it! When this cat was falling- it didn't live up to the 'cats always land on their feet' rule. This wasn't the best strategy for the cat. In fact- the cat landed on it's belly.
Cats who fall from about 6 stories up will usually land on their feet. But any higher than that, they'll land on their bellies. Why? Because if they land feet first, they'll probably break a leg.
But- how did the cat know it falling from high enough to land on it's belly?
It comes down to time. After a certain amount of time, cats start to get a little confused. Why haven't I hit the ground yet? This instinct tells the cat to spread out it's arms and legs, and land kind of like a parachute!
That's pretty much all we've got for this! Stay tuned for more news!
